ORCA PRIDE TAKES CENTER LANE

Pride in the ORCA team shown through loud and clear in the home meet on
December 3 – 4. 153 ORCA swimmers brought in 344 best times, brought down
two ORCA records, earned 30 new blue, invitational, and JO times, and
rearranged 10 spots on the ORCA All-Time Top Five Times list. 112 adult
volunteers carried off their duties with competency, grace, and smiles.
Seven student volunteers added their efforts for community service hours and
did so flawlessly. The meet administrators lead the group through some minor
set-backs, and thanks to the cool, calm, and collected ORCA coaches, the
meet proceeded to completion. Thank you to all who made this meet not only
possible, but fun, safe, and successful! Performances of the ORCA swimmers
are detailed below.
ORCA Records Broken:
Madison Tedesco (17) broke a 6 year old record once held by Fernanda Zarif
in 2005 (5:25.10) in the 500 Free with a 5:22.21.
Ethan Nguyen (8) squeaked by Harrison Lee’s 2010 record in the 100 Back
(1:30.49) with a 1:30.46 for a new ORCA record.
