FAST
Last Chance JO Qualifier a Success
Fifteen ORCA swimmers
braved the heat at the Janet Evans Swim Complex at
Chloe Regan breezed in on
a Friday-only session and nailed the 11-12 Female 200 IM for a Summer and
Spring JO cut with a time of 2:48.37; a 12.03 second drop. Alejandra Duran
stopped by Saturday morning and seized a Summer JO cut for the 11-12 Female
50 Breast with a 41.99. Elle Gault and Danica Lambert both snatched June
Invitational times in the 15-18 Female 200 Fly and 200 Back respectively. A
tug of war drama continued to play out at this meet with two of our 16 year
old boys. Graydon Stanley had established an ORCA record in the 200 Fly in
July of 2009 with a 2:41.40. Connor Regan snagged it back in April, 2010
with a time of 2:37.66. And with more of yank than a tug, Graydie took it
back with a very fast 2:29.62, not only dropping over 10 seconds off his
previous best time, but hitting his first JO Qualifying time to boot. All
good swimming, but the day belonged to one Mr. Harrison Lee. This 8 year old
dynamo broke a 17 year old record in the 7-8 Male 50 Free, held by Mike Farr
since 1993 (38.35), and swam it in 38.05.
And now, for the rest of
the story.
Total ORCA Best Times = 21
Swimmers achieving best
times in all of their events were:
Graydie Stanley 4 out of 4
Chloe Regan 1 out of 1
Alejandra Duran 1 out of 1
Good Luck to everyone at
the ORCA hosted meet at El Modena High School this weekend!
