Brooke Hayes Honored at Southern California Swimming Annual Award Banquet

 

Each year SCS honors athletes 11-18 who have been ranked nationally among the fastest ten swims by event and age, along with those athletes 10 years and under who have been ranked in the top three in each event for 10u in Southern California Swimming.  This year’s banquet honored these swimmers, many of whom have broken SCS and National records, this past Sunday, May 16.

 

There are over 270,000 members of USA Swimming from beginner to Olympians.  The swimmers honored at this year’s banquet distinguished themselves during the 2008-2009 Short Course and/or 2009 Long Course seasons by attaining a ranking as the fastest swimmers in the country in their age and event.  ORCA is exceptionally proud of Brooke Hayes for having achieved the distinction as one of the fastest swimmers (10 and under age group) in Southern California during the 2008-2009 Short and Long Course seasons. Brooke’s hard work and natural talent have brought her the notable rankings below:

 

50 M Backstroke      35.58  1st

50 M Freestyle         30.65  2^nd

100 Y  Backstroke  1:09.36  3^rd

100 M Freestyle      1:07.90  3^rd

 

Please join us in congratulating Brooke Hayes and her Coach, Jess Withey, for a job well done. Brooke has joined a very elite group of ORCA swimmers who have received this honor.
